Depositions

Posted in Uncategorized, The business of living at 12:15 pm by Athena

I did my deposition this morning.  I haven’t talked about the law suit thus far because I just didn’t want to sully my website with it, but as people I know have been wanting to know what’s going on – here’s a brief update for all the people who might want to know.

I’m being sued for a car accident I was involved in back on December of ’04.  Three cars.  No one was injured.  And the woman who was cited at the scene for reckless driving is suing me for about $55,000 damages, 30 of which is punitive.

Obviously there is more but I’m not going to talk about it till it’s all over.  Anyway, I gave my testimony this morning.  I laid it out the best I could remember – a year and a half later, and now I’m tired.

I was surprised how once you open that box of memories, emotions and such, you get plain tuckered out.  I feel like I need a long nap, or a half pound of chocolate covered cherries.  Just coming to the coffee shop to work on my blog, I thought of all the foods I’d normally use to medicate emotional or mental exhaustion.  Ice Cream, chocolate, cheese, French bread….

Alas, I’m still sugar, gluten, and dairy free. Bummer.  Looks like it’ll be a bowl of fruit and an unsweetened Americano.  Yay.

So today I’m going to wander around, maybe take a snooze on the lawn at the Rose Garden, do some paperwork and then go see Mary’s band, Blue Lightning play at Bethany Village Grill @ 8pm.  I’ll be doing some pictures for them so if you’re free and in PDX tonight come check ‘em out.  We can get a cup of coffee and chat.
