Almost Perfect

Posted in Uncategorized, poems at 10:51 pm by Athena

I saw you watching me from across the room.

Smoke haze and drunken chatter in the air between us.

You lifted your eyes and I could see the things you wanted to do to my body reflected in their depths.  I smiled.

As if it were real I could feel your hand splayed across my belly, your lips on my skin… your teeth raking my shoulder.  I gripped the edge of the table waiting for you, but you turned in your chair leaned against the bar and stared into an amber filled glass.

I watched your shoulders roll forward, your arms pull in and I knew by the tilt of your head – you thought you’d lost.

You could have had me with a word.  A confident smile   A cheesy joke.  I could see you in there burning to be set free…

The air outside was cold.  A biting sting made worse by disappointment – you were almost perfect – almost.

Remember that guy that watched me all night at The Boiler Room two birthday’s ago? I thought of him when I read this. Also, rowr. How’s the writing going? I’m plodding along slowly.

The writing is on schedule so far. And why didn’t you give the guy at the boiler room a birthday surprise?
You had the perfect opportunity to say, “But no one’s spanked me yet…”
