Kungfukitten asked what was in the box from the scrapbook company. It was in fact a scrapbook in a bag. A precut and colorful combination of papers and a small booklet with design and layout ideas. I went to the company yesterday to take it back, thinking it was some sort of misunderstanding (after all it was sent to someone named Athena Jensen) I didn’t want someone else to be missing something they ordered. The girl informed me it was a gift to those who came in and interviewed for the teaching position and that I didn’t have a last name on file. The shipping label wouldn’t print without a last name – so she made one up. “Take is home and enjoy it. It’s free.”So – I think I will.
I think I would have been really good at that job and I’m actually really bummed they offered it to me and I turned it down. Who needs a car payment anyway? Or food for that matter? The thing that roasts me is that I’ve been told never to accept the job without trying to negotiate for things that you need. They didn’t even try to negotiate.
If I’d sold my car, and packed bags of ramen noodles with me to the cities I traveled to I might have been able to do it for what they were offering. Damn. And it would have been so much fun.
Something far better must be in the pipe for my future….
