As I sat with Skysidhe yesterday we got into this conversation about the two types of men we are attracted to.

Sex Men

Or

Soup Men

This conversation started because she’s evidently had this talk with another friend and as we hashed the formula out it works like this.

There are two types of men we are attracted to, the guys we want to take home and do unspeakable, naughty and very fun things to – OR – the guys we want to take home, and feed them soup.

The most powerful attractions come from those very rare men that are both.  That’s dangerous for me, very powder-keggy.

Sex guys are obvious, right?  There’s a chemical response, a physical need or yearning or well – smokin’ LUST.  It’s a pretty simple yes or no.  When you’re around someone you know almost immediately whether they are Sex or not.  To be honest, yes, there’s an element of physical shallowness, but also things must be factored into my Sex Men like, body posture, confidence, open energy and an easy smile. These things on anyone are attractive and yummy.

Soup guys are tougher to recognize. They’re the guys who are not hardened, calloused or self centered.  They’re the guys who naturally bring out the feminine urge to nurture, adore or pamper.  Soup guys are the ones you want in your energy zone because they are also caring and sensitive and you could likely stay up all night talking to them. Soup guys are the ones you have a soft spot to hug, cuddle or be near without the backlash of a sexual meltdown. Sadly, Soup guys are almost always the ones that come in last, or as one sister put it, “the runts of the litter”, which naturally, will bring out any woman’s need to fight for him, protect him and feed him soup.

By my description I make Soup guys sound pathetic, it’s not my intention because they are – of the two categories – my favorite. As most of you know, I’m hot for Geeks, Nerds, and Dorks.  There is something so ridiculously appealing about a guy who’s confident and sure about his likes and dislikes regardless of how they are perceived.  I’m also starting to realize I just enjoy the conversations I can have with them. Unpretentious, all things are possibilities, there is not black or white answer and they often find joy in the simplest things. They are, quite simply – Beautiful to me.  A true Geek that I’m crazy hot for is the character of Hiro in the TV show Heroes.  I could be a happy woman if I stuffed him in my luggage and ran off somewhere. What a freakin’ Cutie Pie! I want one!

It should be noted, that a great equalizer of the two categories, or a bridge per se, that will Make Soup men more like Sex men – is a stellar sense of humor. Hands down, every time.

So that brings us to the middle men.

Sex & Soup Men.

I currently do not have one of these men in my life, which is good.  That could potentially be a whole lot of trouble for my comfort zone.  But now that there is a label system I will use it in my blog to hopefully keep a few certain people updated as to what is going on in the love area.  Because, I think – it’s time.

Soup or Sex, Sex or Soup, Soupy Sex, Sexy Soup…. (say that ten times fast)

Skye? Did I forget anything?
