I have landed the role of “Dany” in the short film I auditioned for yesterday. Before you all get excited, (Pha), it’s not a paying gig - they offered comp meals at Arby’s - - - no, I’m not joking, and it’s a short independent film which means there is no budget.
The role I agreed to play has in fact, one topless scene, and one love scene. Yes, I know. And before you freak out, (Pha), yes. I know.
I’m hoping it will be fun. It’s a Sci-Fi/Fantasy thing and although it’s grass roots, it seems to have a lot of enthusiasm behind it which is the grand point, is it not? An adventure.
As to the nudity, I casually mentioned it to D over the phone and she sat on the other end speechless. “Why?” was all she could say.
To which I responded. Why not? There are naked pictures of me all over the internet. It’s not like it would be the first time my boobs have been out there, and after posting the naked bike ride – what difference does it make? Really?
I’m finally coming to some sort of peace with my body and all its numerous flaws. Why do I have to either be a puritan or an insecure hidey cat? It’s my body and while I have my hang-ups (pudgy and pale), I am at last, after the naked bike ride and the trip to the hot springs, beginning to realize – I am too young to worry so much about whether or not everyone else thinks the same things about my body or not. So, here it goes.
Anywhoo, there you have it. I’ll keep you all posted of the progress and any interesting tidbits that surface. At the very least it should be fun, good practice, and an experiment in with my boundaries.
Besides, nothing says thanks for showing your boobies like an Arby’s Roast Beef sandwich with plastic-cheese-like product and curly fries. How could I possibly turn that down?
