I woke up this morning smiling and thinking of Tuscany. Why Tuscany, you ask? Good freaking question.  I woke up ready to see sun and fields and drink wine near the cypress trees.  I woke up relaxed as though I’m been lounging on a veranda with a beautiful Italian man, or walking through the vineyard. Light drenched skin and gentle sips of someone I adored.

The only thing I can think of that may have triggered such a dream and such utter restful sleep was hanging out with Erisian last night at the Cigar bar where we talked for hours.  Good company and a room full of fragrant tobacco somehow must have set off a night of sleep by filling my sensory channels with ideas of warmth and comfort.  Like an extended vacation in a place where you can swim in Sole. Breathe in a hint of cinnamon, roasted cloves and savory cherries, aged tobacco and dark red wine, with the heavy scent of caramelized sugar in the air. Then imagine groves of olive trees and an old dirt road to a villa where I’ll be stretched out with a good book, waiting for my friends to come relax with me.

Hmmm… Tuscany.
