I got my first endorphin high after working out last night. Finally, there is payoff from a workout! History wise, I have not had endorphins from a workout since High school. I suspect now that it has been mostly dietary and fatigue possibly even adrenal exhaustion.

When I started working out I was going on the faith that as some point I would stop feeling crappy. Don’t get me wrong, I still feel shitty, but at last – less shitty and with more of a sense of “this is working”.

The first time I started doing the bench press with Admiral Fubar I could barely push the bar 5 times and could only do two sets. Last night I realized I am 15 reps and 3 sets. The best part is I’m not really even trying. As I average two nights a week for lifting. Compared to what I know I can do, I am not really pushing myself. Cool.

In the past I haven’t had enough in my system to sustain a workout, much less get any endorphins out of it, which would often leave me more exhausted than before and sometimes physically ill. As I’ve been taking supplements and eating more protein and sleeping more regularly, I am feeling much stronger. No weight difference I’m still plateaued but definitely things are getting tighter and that’s a good sign.

Lara, do you have your bike from home? How’s the list? Start crossing off the easiest things. Whittle your list so it doesn’t look overwhelming. Also, Lara… have you been thinking about making music?

Megan, Congratulations on your play! Between that and getting to the second hands stores – how are you feeling? My next challenge to you is to have a pamper night. Do your toe nails and a mud-mask. Make it just for you – no one else. It’s all about Megan time.

Sondra, good job on saying no more often and taking deep breaths! WOOT! Now I challenge you to list five things you can do for yourself this summer that will help fill up your love tank. The Sondra soul tank. It doesn’t have to be ambitious, just a few things that will help you center and relax. Hiking? Pot some plants? Etc. And always keep breathing.

ResilientMonkey, Congratulations on putting a spreadsheet together for your finances. Definitely, if you need to bike – you should! I think you’d like that. Are you setting up for auto pay in as many things as you can? Sometimes that helps with that overwhelming feeling of being unable to write checks and balance the checkbook ever two weeks. Just a thought. Also, do you like swimming? Low impact, high energy and good old fashioned fun? Give it a try?

So how’s it going guys? Check in and let’s see if plans need some tweaking. You’re twelve days in to the challenge. What else can we do in 90 days to improve your quality of happiness?
