My apologies for the long absence.
I’ve been recovering from another lung infection, Thanksgiving and Nanowrimo. The depressing things is that I didn’t manage to do any of them well, except maybe the lung infection. TMI.
So, to catch up: I had a wonderful Thanksgiving with a lovely woman I do odd jobs for and her family. Then came home after good grub, excellent company and awesome conversation and six hours later could not breathe.
The next day was going to be our little Thanksgiving at home with Admiral Fubar and myself but I was too sick to cook – so Admiral Fubar cooked the Turkey and sides and all the delicacies implied.
For those of you who actually know my little brother, his blog name is fitting and so I expected to eat only a full can of cranberry sauce (I was prepared to smile and nod and spit into my napkin) but it turns out – he did an excellent job prepping and serving and I realized, I might actually no longer be needed for the Thanksgiving cook fest.
He did a great job while I laid on the couch coughing up my lungs. Go-Go Gadget, Baby Brother!
By the time Thanksgiving arrived, I was already 5k words behind on my words count for Nanowrimo, and even though I wrote a little here and there while I was sick, I knew there was no way I could push my body into one of my usual streaks of 5-7k words a day to make up for the days I’d missed.
So this year, I finished Nanowrimo 14K words short.
As in, I didn’t complete.
Which bummed me out at first, but then I just felt too crappy to care.
Now on the mend, medicated, doctored and ready to get air back in my chest – I am getting ready to rip in to draft six of my book while I let my Nanowrimo work sit and stew in its juices.
Long story short? Too late.
We’re up and running again.
So how did your Thanksgivings go? Any adventures?
Do share!

Umm… I went to Washington and bought a crap ton of booze? ‘Cause I’m classy like that.
Jordy, you are certainly the classiest lush I know. Seriously, it sounds like you had an EXCELLENT plan. Can’t wait to see the new additions to your collection!
